Around the Spot is an animation about skateboarding which combines handdrawn sequences and classical stop-motion technique.
Three Skateboard tricks got analyzed, drawn and cut out frame by frame. The spot of each skateboarding trick was rebuilt and combined in one three-dimensional paper modell. The paper modell has drafted shadow textures to create a matching scenery for the handdrawn sequences.
Each frame of the two-dimensional animation was placed with help of wires around the paper modell and photographed. 99 photographs create the final stop-motion animation. The dynamic sequence around the spot is set up to work as loop.
